My best Amazon finds of the year - Episode 19

Having an Amazon Prime account means you may be extremely tempted to shop constantly. But how do you know if what you’re buying is really worth it?

Today I’m sharing 12 purchases I’ve made from Amazon so far in 2024 that have my stamp of approval. From fashion to home decor, you will definitely want to click “add to cart” on them.

Create & consume

What Austen is creating this week: a new freebie for my Etsy shop: the Wedding Planning Kickoff Workbook to help newly couples outline their big day

What Austen is consuming this week: Emily in Paris, season 4 part 2! Lots of opinions are shared (spoilers from 5:18-8:55 in this episode if you haven’t watched yet)

In this episode:

1. Oversized Woven Seagrass Laundry Basket

I initially had a smaller version of this laundry basket but decided it was time for an upgrade. The two compartments make sorting laundry a breeze (one for me and one for Andrew), and the woven seagrass adds a chic, natural touch to our home.

It’s functional and aesthetically pleasing, which is always a win!

2. 5-Tier Sturdy Bamboo Shoe Holder

Our shoes were literally overflowing from our small shoe rack by the door and it became clear we needed more storage.

This bamboo shoe holder not only matches the aesthetic but can hold 18 pairs of shoes! I can even tuck my flat sandals underneath. Shoe organization = solved.

3. Dummy Battery for Camera

Honestly, how was I even living before this? I discovered this in Vanessa Lau’s recent filming equipment video. When I’m recording sit-down videos, the last thing I want to worry about is the camera battery dying or if I remembered to charge it.

With this dummy battery, I don’t have to stress about any of that—it's been a game changer for my recording my sit-down YouTube videos.

4. Pink Podcast Microphone

When I decided to launch this podcast, I knew I needed an equipment upgrade. Not only does this microphone look cute, but it’s also incredibly simple to use.

It plugs right into my laptop via USB-C, making it super convenient for recording podcasts with ease. It’s stylish and practical—my favorite kind of purchase.

5. Bracelet-Making Kit for the Eras Tour

If you listened to my Eras Tour recap, you know that we traveled to Amsterdam to see Taylor Swift live. One of the best parts of the concert was trading friendship bracelets.

I used this bracelet-making kit to create fun, personalized bracelets, which made the entire experience even more memorable. It was super affordable and a relaxing activity to do leading up to the concert.

6. Photo Album for Wedding

I finally got around to printing out some wedding photos (many months later lol) and this photo album has been the perfect way to keep them all together.

There’s something so nostalgic about flipping through physical prints, and it’s a beautiful keepsake to have around the house.

7. AirFly Pro

This little gadget plugs into the headphone jack on planes, allowing you to pair your AirPods wirelessly. I used it on my flight to Amsterdam, and it was a game changer.

Toward the end, I had some trouble with pairing (wondering if it wasn’t fully charged) but I’m determined to figure it out! If anyone has any AirFly tips and tricks, please let me know!

8. 4-Cup Egg Pan

This pan has been a lifesaver for my breakfast sandwich game.

It’s divided into sections so I can make eggs for both Andrew and I at the same time. The eggs cook perfectly into the molds, making it super easy to whip up sandwiches in the morning.

9. Anker Phone Backup Charger

I originally bought this for the Eras tour, and it has been so handy ever since.

Whether I'm on the go for a concert or just running errands, this charger keeps my phone powered up without fail.

10. The Saturday Dress

This black maxi dress has become my weekend uniform—no joke. I saw my cousin wear something similar to a bachelorette party this summer, and I immediately looked for a similar one on Amazon.

I’ve worn it for casual dinners, Taylor’s engagement party, and even on my birthday. It’s just so versatile!

11. Travel Makeup Brush Holder

Thanks to Lindsay Silberman, I discovered this silicone makeup brush holder, and it’s been a game changer for my travel routine.

It keeps my brushes secured without squishing the bristles, and the velcro strap makes simple to seal. No more ruined brushes or makeup pouches!

12. Lightweight Pink Water Bottle with Strap

I love how tall and skinny this water bottle is, which makes it ideal for travel.

It’s more lightweight than my usual metal bottles and tumblers and comes with a handy strap, so I can carry it everywhere. Hydration on the go has never been easier!

Bonus: Spinning Cleaning Brush with Attachments

I just got this new spinning cleaning brush for the bathroom, kitchen, and more.

I haven’t gotten to test it out fully yet, but it comes with eight different attachments to clean all sorts of surfaces. Now I just need to figure out the best soap to pair with it!

Summary

These Amazon purchases have seriously made my life easier, more organized, and just a little more fun! Whether it’s for travel, home, or hobbies, each item has been worth every penny.

If you’ve tried any of these or have recommendations of your own, let me know—I’m always on the hunt for new favorites!
