How to spring clean your life - Episode 42
Spring cleaning isn’t just about making your space look nice—it’s about creating an environment that makes you feel good.
Whether it’s your home, your digital space, or your personal belongings, a deep clean can help you feel more organized and refreshed.
I’m sharing my best tips for tackling both physical and digital clutter to truly spring clean your life.
Create & consume

In this episode:
Start with a general list
Before diving in, make a general list of areas to focus on. Breaking tasks into smaller steps or spreading them out over a few days can make the process feel less overwhelming.
I like to separate my cleaning into two categories: physical and digital.
Cleaning vs. Decluttering
Cleaning and decluttering go hand in hand, but they’re not the same.
Decluttering is about getting rid of things you no longer need, while cleaning focuses on making sure everything you keep is in tip-top shape.
Here are the key areas I focus on:
Kitchen
Do a seasonal audit of pantry and fridge
Deep clean appliances
Wipe down cabinets and counters
Bathroom
Toss expired products
Scrub the shower and sinks
Wash towels and bath mats
Office
Shred old documents
Clear desktop and organize papers
Wipe down electronics
Living Room
Dust furniture and shelves
Clean the couch
Refresh throw pillows and blankets
Bedroom
Dust and vacuum under the bed
Wash bedding
Organize nightstands and dressers
Floors, Windows, & Mirrors
Vacuum and mop floors
Clean windows and mirrors
Freshen up rugs
My Favorite Cleaning Products
A few tried-and-true products that make cleaning easier:
Mrs. Meyers Lemon Verbena Line – Smells amazing and works well!
Swiffer Wet Jet – Great for quick floor cleanups.
Dyson Cordless Vacuum – A game changer for effortless vacuuming.
Scrub Daddy – The best for tough scrubbing jobs.
Tech Wipes – Perfect for keeping screens clean.
Room Spray – Adds a fresh scent to any space.
Bi-Annual Beauty Declutter
I like to do a major beauty clear-out twice a year. Here’s my method:
Take everything out and wipe down counters.
Check for expired, empty, or unused products.
Replace with new products and organize in a way that makes sense.
Closet Clean-Out
Your wardrobe deserves a refresh too! Follow these steps for an efficient clean-out:
Prep your space – Make your bed and clear areas for sorting.
Take everything out – Get rid of broken hangers and clean your closet.
Sort into categories – keep, maybe, and donate/toss. Try on everything in the maybe pile and put it in either keep or donate.
Put things back thoughtfully – Seasonal pieces in front, organize by color or type.
Digital Declutter
Don’t forget about your digital spaces! Digital clutter can be just as overwhelming as physical clutter. Here are some easy ways to tidy up your digital life:
Clear out your phone camera roll – Put on a podcast and delete unnecessary photos.
Empty your downloads folder and trash on your laptop – A quick way to free up space.
Run Clean My Mac – Helps find duplicate files and clears storage.
Unfollow or mute accounts on social media – If they no longer inspire you, it’s time to let go.
Summary
Start small, work at your own pace, and enjoy the fresh start that comes with a decluttered life!
